El Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas, the city council of Las Palmas has been working on a proposal to force bars on Sargento Llagas📍 to close earlier.
The move aims to limit noise in the area following complaints from residents that led to acoustic studies being conducted. A report recommended earlier closures of outdoor seating terraces and a stronger police presence to turn the street’s volume down.
Terraces are usually allowed to open from 08:00 to 24:00 Sunday to Thursday, and until 01:00 on Saturdays and holidays. The limits would reduce opening hours of outside seating by two hours Sunday to Thursday, and three hours on Saturdays and holidays, meaning outside service will cease at 22:00 every day, though guests will be given half an hour to clear their tables.
Cafés and bars can continue to trade inside, though they’re expected to have all the tables put away by 22:30 at the latest.
The acoustic studies also encourage a greater presence from La Policía in the area, to deter people from hanging around chatting on street corners.

My own ears have experienced how busy and noisy that area can be, and how quickly it can turn deadly quiet with a slow drive-by of Policía Local.
